January is typically a good month for The Big Bang Theory, and 2018 seems to be no exception. The comedy again topped all other original series for the week with a 3.0 rating among adults 18-49.
The CBS comedy drove a nightly win for its network, partnered with steady episodes of Young Sheldon (2.5 adults), Mom (1.6 adults), Life in Pieces (1.2 adults) and SWAT (1.1 adults).
ABC saw a strong entry for news special Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story. The interview, no doubt buoyed by all of the attention around film I, Tonya, earned a 1.5 rating in the key demo and 6.6 million viewers — enough to win both the 9 and 10 o'clock hours among adults 18-49.
On Fox, the second episode of The Four averaged a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 for the night. That's off just two-tenths of a point from the previous week's premiere — keeping the network just ahead of NBC in the key demo.
Over on NBC, Superstore (1.1 adults), The Good Place (1.0 adults) and Great News (0.6 adults each held their scores from the previous week. Will & Grace, however, dropped three tenths of a point to a new low 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. Chicago Fire (0.9 adults) also lost two-tenths of a point.
The Critics Choice Awards made a broadcast move, more than doubling its last showing on A&E with 1.3 million viewers. The show also took a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49.
