The Lake County Engineer’s Office reported Jan. 12 that Vrooman Road is closed between Seeley Road and Middle Ridge Road because of flooding.
“The closure will require county drivers to cooperate during this event,” the engineer’s office said in the announcement. “Drivers are asked to please abide by the posted signs and detour around the area until further notice. Even if the water recedes, plows will not be clearing this section of roadway until the winter storm subsides.”
The office said drivers should be aware of potential flooding in all river areas. Caution should be exercised when driving on all county roads during this storm event.
“The freezing rain could present difficult driving conditions,” the office stated. “Motorists are reminded that the forecast for the rain to change to ice and then snow will leave a layer of ice below the snow which may make driving conditions more difficult until county forces are able to treat all road surfaces.”
The office said www.lakecountyohio.gov/engineer can be checked for closure/opening updates.
