New Delhi, Jan 12: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday slashed international inter-connect usage charge to 30 paise from 53 paise per minute. The TRAI issued ‘The Telecommunication Interconnection Usage Charges (Fourteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2018’ which prescribes International Termination Charges.
Through the regulation, TRAI reduced termination charges payable by an International Long Distance Operator to the access provider in whose network the call terminates from Rs 0.53 per minute to Rs 0.30 per minute.
International termination charges are paid by the telecom operator from whose country the call is made to the service provider here on whose network the call terminates. The charge is recovered from subscribers by international operators.
