Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for slapping a phone out of a fan's hand, the league announced Friday.

The incident occurred as Hood was exiting the court after being ejected for receiving his second technical foul during Wednesday's win over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena. Hood, clearly upset with the ejection, saw a fan filming him as he was nearing the tunnel and smacked his phone from his hand and onto the ground.

The fan spoke with security officials after the incident, pressing for police action, according to The Salt Lake Tribune

Hood isn't the first NBA player to be fined for fan incidents this season, as DeMarcus Cousins, Kyrie Irving, Austin Rivers and Josh Jackson have each been fined as well.

Hood, 25, is in his fourth NBA season and his fourth with the Jazz. He was drafted with the 23rd overall pick in 2014 after playing two collegiate seasons — one with Mississippi State and one with Duke.

He's Utah's second-leading scorer this season, averaging 16.5 points per game on 40.6% shooting.
