Lake Forest Academy in lock down after gunfire reported two streets over

WILMINGTON -- A report of gunshots heard on 13th Street has prompted the lock down of a school on 15th Street.

Lake Forest Academy, 1806 S. 15th St. was put into lock down as a precautionary measure at 2:30 p.m., according to New Hanover County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jerry Brewer.

Classes were released at 12:15 today, but some staff and students may still be on campus.

The move was made after someone reported hearing four gunshots in the 1600 block of South 13th St.
