Fans were heartbroken when the show was over – but were almost immediately treated to the news that the show had been commissioned for another series in 2018.
The good news is, ITV2’s Love Island are already looking for new applicants.

When does Love Island 2018 start?

Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels & Acquisitions, said: “At ITV2, we couldn’t be more thrilled with how Love Island fever has gripped the nation.
“Now established as the perfect series to start the summer, we’re delighted to be bringing the show back for our young adult audience in 2018.”

The application form asks contestants to be available for “a minimum of 10 weeks across May 2018”.
This could mean that the show would start earlier – as in 2016 when the show started on May 30.
However, in 2015 it launched on June 7 – and the 2017 series started on June 5 – meaning a June 4 start date looks likely.
With the previous show running for eight weeks – we could be in for a long run of the show.
