SRINAGAR: Undeterred by the tragedies that struck their families, Afzal Guru’s son and Burhan Wani’s brother have brought laurels to their respective families as they scored high and passed the 12th class exam with flying colours.
Ghalib, son of Afzal Guru — who was hanged after being convicted for attacking the Indian parliament, has passed the 12th class examination with distinction securing over 88 per cent marks.
The boy had also passed his 10th class examination securing over 95 per cent marks.
Naveed Wani, brother of then Hizbul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani — who was killed in a gunfight with security forces, has passed the class 12th exam securing distinction.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education declared the result for the class 12th exam on Wednesday.
Burhan’s sister had also in 2016 secured distinction when she passed her 12th class exam securing 449 marks.
