After holding a rally at Dharmatala on Thursday, Dilip said, "Bimal Gurung spoke the right thing. The chief minister herself had recognised the demand for a separate state of Gorkhaland. We never asked for a separate state. But a discussion on the Gorkhaland issue was needed."
Attacking Mamata, Dilip Ghosh said, "The CM is trying to set up Trinamool reign in the hills by removing Gurung. The Gorkhas have a democratic right. The people of the hills have a different sentiment towards Gorkhaland, which could have been solved by discussing with Gurung. I have never supported the unrest in the hills. I do not know what will Gurung do."
The BJP leader added that, "The unrest in hills could have been solved a long time ago by discussing with Gurung. But the CM used Binay Tamang as a bait to strengthen her party. But it did not benefit the hills in any way."
