New Year has given a good beginning to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. On Friday, he will meet Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister’s Residence in New Delhi.
Naidu will discuss about the Amaravati Capital Region Development and support required from the Government of India, issues arising out of State bifurcation and other development activities in Andhra Pradesh.
On Wednesday, Naidu wrote a letter to the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley about cuts in Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Central Share In Externally Aided Projects sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh for 2015-16 to 2019-20 years. As External Agencies are taking long procedure to sign agreements and consuming long time to release funds, Naidu said, Andhra Pradesh is not in a position to absorb the time loss happening EAP. He further requested to convert all EAP projects as NABARD projects by releasing Rs 16,447 crores as the special dispensation amount instead of loans through External Agencies.
“The special assistance measures announced to Andhra Pradesh and Central Assistance In 90:10 ratio on par with Special Category States will enable to put the residuary State’s finances on a firmer footing as envisaged by the Parliament while passing the Bifurcation Bill”, Naidu added in his letter.
