The leader of the Ohio Senate is endorsing the Republican ticket of Attorney General MikeDeWine and Secretary of State Jon Husted for governor and lieutenant governor.
President Larry Obhof, R-Medina, endorsed the pair in an announcement by DeWine's campaign on Friday afternoon.
Saying he had "seen their leadership first hand," Obhof praised the men's performance in statewide office.
"I'm confident that Mike DeWine and Jon Husted will work to strengthen our economy, protect Ohio's families and defend our constitutional rights. Their leadership is the right choice for Ohio," Obhof said
With the departure of U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci, R-Wadworth, for the U.S. Senate race, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and running mate Nathan Estruth are the lone remaining contenders for the GOP gubernatorial nomination in the May 8 primary.
