From one of the men who brought you The Good Doctor comes a new show about a young monk trying to find himself in Los Angeles.
Former Hawaii Five-0 star Daniel Dae Kim's production company 3AD, which developed the adaptation of the Korean medical drama that became ABC's hit medical drama The Good Doctor, is following up the successful series with First Rule of Ten, a show based on a mystery novel series by Gay Hendricks and Tinker Lindsay, Deadline reports.
The story follows "a monk who, after struggling with the teachings of his Tibetan monastery, leaves to figure out who he really is," according to Deadline. "He lands in the City of Angels and finds himself at odds with the fast-paced lifestyle which clashes with his Buddhist upbringing. His path to self-realization is further complicated when he witnesses a brutal crime and ends up tangled in the investigation."

"The books tell a beautifully universal story from a uniquely Asian American perspective," said Kim.
He will serve as executive producer alongside Jennifer Yee McDevitt, who will write the script, as well as David Henry Hwang and Rachel Miller.
The project is in early stages of development from 3AD and ITV Studios America.
