Crime branch nabs Fraudsters

Crime branch police have nabbed two Bihar based youths involved in duping victims by obtaining details of their bank accounts and transferring money from their bank accounts.

According to the police, the two miscreants were identified as Ravi Kumar Gupta (24) and Rajesh Kumar Gupta (19) from Madhubani Bihar.

Regarding their modus operandi, the accused said that they used to contact victims randomly from morning till night and would trap the victim.

In a single day 1-2 victims were trapped and they would receive money in their bank accounts after which they would get their share and remaining part was provided to the gang leader.

The two told police that the gang is lead by Munna Baranwal (36) of Jharkhand. Based on the information search for the main accused has been started.  The accused Ravi runs a mobile recharge voucher shop while Rajesh owns a cosmetic shop. The police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC and section 66 of the IT Act. The accused would be questioned regarding other crimes.

The action was taken after a complaint was lodged with the crime branch by Gokul Prasad of Bajaria. In his complaint the victim stated that on October 14, 2017 he had received a call from the miscreant who posed as SBI official and stated that his ATM card has expired and requires to be renewed, and obtained the details of the bank account and money was deducted after providing the details.Police have started further investigation and search for the kingpin has been intensified.
