"Schemes are for people and it is not the other way around. After assuming office I have signed 4,903 files and many problems have been solved by the government headed by me," he said, amid thumping of desks by the ruling party's legislators.



Reiterating that the state government is in good terms with the union government only for the benefit of  people of Tamil Nadu, he announced that Global Investors Meet will be held later this year. He also said that the state will continue to be a power surplus year this year too.

Local body elections will be conducted at the earliest assured the chief minister, who said that the government led by him is working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.
