Small screen’s popular actor, Jay Soni who shot to fame through Star Plus’ Sasural Genda Phool and also known for his character in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, had an arranged marriage with a girl named Pooja Shah in a small ceremony in 2014. The couple is expecting their first baby. Yes, you heard it right. The actor, who found love in an arranged marriage, is all set to join the ‘Daddy Cool’ bandwagon. Recently, Jay took to his micro-blogging site to announce the big news. Sharing a picture of himself with his dearest wifey, who is flaunting her baby bump in the picture, on his Instagram handle, Jay announced that he is all set to become a father.
Sharing his excitement about welcoming his first child, in a statement to Bombay Times, an elated Jay said, “The baby is due in April. I didn’t disclose the news earlier, as we are not allowed to share it till the first trimester is completed. I am extremely excited.”
The Bhaag Bakool Bhaag actor further added, “I love kids. They are like a stress buster to me. I can literally spend the whole day with a kid. So it feels great to know that we’ll soon have a kid of our own. I can’t express, it’s just that we are waiting for that moment to hold the baby in our hands.I’ll be a very cool and chilled father. I’m overprotective by nature, so that’ll be there. Speaking about why the actor opted for an arranged setup, the actor had told a leading news portal, “The only reason why I opted for an arranged marriage is because, I wanted a simple girl, who would lead a happy life. I also want to settle down and career will take its own natural course,” adding that it was all quick and we were no less than just strangers when we got engaged in October 2013 but we soon started feeling the connection and realised that we want to settle down. Jay had told an online portal, “Our parents set up this meeting but once we spent some time together it felt like I have known her for years.” Watch this space for further updates.
