2018 never started well for Intel. Even though the processors from almost every manufacturer were hit, Intel had all the bad luck. That said, AMD as well celebrated a small time of their celebration. But no more.
AMD initially claimed that their chips did not have a flaw, but now are rolling out updates to protect their chipset from Meltdown and Spectre. A research recently showed that AMD’s claim wanst really true, and could allow hackers to exfiltrate data from your PC. The updates are rolling for OEM’s Motherboards and PCs.

Here is a quote from AMD:
AMD will make optional microcode updates available to our customers and partners for Ryzen and EPYC processors starting this week. We expect to make updates available for our previous generation products over the coming weeks. These software updates will be provided by system providers and OS vendors; please check with your supplier for the latest information on the available option for your configuration and requirements.
That said, AMD also shared that it’s working with Microsoft to fix the issue on OS level. The patch which actually caused more trouble than anything, and made Microsoft pull off.
