Philippe Coutinho: Liverpool dressing room mood revealed by Joe Gomez after Barcelona deal
JOE GOMEZ has revealed the Liverpool players aren’t too downbeat about Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona.
Coutinho joined Barcelona last weekend in a deal worth £142million.
The 25-year-old isn’t expected to make his Barca debut for another three weeks as he is nursing a thigh injury.
The Brazilian’s departure could serve as a key blow to Jurgen Klopp as his side chase a top-four spot at the end of the season.
Although Klopp has turned his attention to other targets, and is hoping to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig this month, Coutinho was a major figure in the Reds’ forward unit.

He was a key part of the ‘Fab Four’ attack that included Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, scoring 12 goals in all competitions before his exit.
And former team-mate Gomez has lifted the lid mood on the Reds’ dressing room mood since Coutinho left.
“It’s a massive club with so many top players and I think we know how good he is, everyone is happy for Phil, but now it’s about us bouncing back and moving on as a team,” Gomez told the Daily Mirror.

Gomez and Liverpool welcome Premier League leaders Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday (4pm).
However, Pep Guardiola’s men will take some stopping as they are unbeaten in 22 league games, winning 20 of them and are 15 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester United.
