ONGC adopts Korbongpara Village in Tripura to protect Korbong tribe
ONGC has adopted Korbongpara village in Western Tripura District to provide basic amenities including educational support, healthcare, drinking water etc as part of the company's policy to reach out to the commonest of common people through its CSR. The Korbong tribe, nestled in the hills of Western Tripura, is on the verge of extinction and today has only 31 families. Inaugurating the Project, Dr Ranjit Debbarma, Chairman, Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC, Khumulung) said that ONGC has been one of the main partners in the progress of Tripura and improving the quality of life in the state. VP Mahawar, Director (Onshore) ONGC said that Korbongpara model village is a part of rural developmental programme. DD Misra, Director (HR) ONGC, has been the steering force behind ONGC's CSR activities. Congratulating the project Team, Shashi Shanker, CMD ONGC, said that the turnaround of the village into a smart village in one year's time is a remarkable achievement.

The founder of Seeds of Innocence Dr Gauri Agarwal, a senior IVF specialist trained in Belgium and Dr Rajat Arora an Interventional Cardiologist with MD and DM in Cardiology are setting benchmarks in the field of infertility treatment by providing eminent services to the mankind. Creeping into masses and sweeping their problems by their missions of ‘changing lives’, bringing joy has led them relentlessly work for not only treating infertility but also educating them as and when to go for the treatment. Inaugurated by Home Minister Rajnath Singh the pilot center was opened at Malviya Nagar, New Delhi and since then no looking back.
A brief history of Lucknow Railway Station
On 23 April 1867, the 47 mile Lucknow-Kanpur section was opened for traffic. This became part of the Oudh Rohilkhand Railway. The present Lucknow division, in 1925 was part of East Indian Railway till 1952. It caters to the Rail transport requirement of the most populous state of the country, serving 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with a total route of 1,458.94 km (906.54 mi), through 194 stations. Lucknow's Charbagh Railway Station, till 1867, was a large orchard. The present Station building was constructed in 1926 with domes and minars of Mughal architectural design, intended to harmonise with the architecture peculiar to the important historical buildings to the city which date to the days of the Nawabs of Oudh. The building constructed in red brick has a frontage of long verandahs adorned with Mughal arches. It is situated at Charbagh in the south of the city, hence the popular name. The work 'Char Bagh' refers to the four gardens which existed here earlier. .A major role in its design and planning was carried out byMukta Prasad, a counsulting engineer for Lanebrown and Hulett.

NRDC OPENEs INCUBATION CENTRE FOR STARTUPS
To leverage the emerging start-up eco-system in the country, National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) opened an Incubation Centre in its premises which was inaugurated by Dr Girish Sahni, Director General, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR on last Wednesday). In his inaugural address Dr Sahni appreciated efforts of NRDC in establishing Incubation Centre as it fulfils aspiration of the young entrepreneurs who are passionate to address the social problems through their start-ups. Ashwani Gupta and BN Sarkar, Scientist ‘G', DSIR were also present amongst the Sr officials of NRDC, incubates during the inauguration. Dr H Purushotham, CMD of NRDC informed that NRDC received about 100 applications seeking incubation space in the NRDC Incubation Centre.
Steel Minister fetes SAIL Football Academy cadets
Union Steel Minister, Chaudhary Birender Singh felicitated the Steel Authority of India Ltd-run SAIL Football Academy (SFA) cadets who recently won the coveted 58th International Subroto Cup Football Championship 2017, at a ceremony held in Kolkata on Thursday. Minister of State for Steel, Vishnu Deo Sai and SAIL Chairman, PK Singh also graced the occasion. Steel Minister announced a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh for the team and presented sportswear to each cadet. The 16 budding talents of SAIL Football Academy, located in Bokaro, represented Jharkhand State U-17 (boys) in the Subroto Cup tournament held during September 2017.
