The chief executive of Jamiat-e-Islami and ousted Balkh governor Ata Mohammad Noor has promised to jail those who have committed national treasons once he has been elected the next president of the country.

Noor made the commitments during a gathering in Mazar-e-Sharif city amid ongoing controversies between him and the unity government over his controversial dismissal as the Balkh governor.

He once again warned the unity government leaders, President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah, regarding the recent decision about the Balkh government leadership.

According to Noor, President Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah cannot remove him from Balkh government leadership unless they reach to an agreement with Jamiat-e-Islami party.

Noor also added that he will never attempt to enter into political enmity with anyone, even if he wins the upcoming presidential elections.

He also ruled out that he has any intentions to spark ethnic divisions, emphasizing that his support to Kandahar police chief Gen. Raziq shows that he supports national unity.

The latest remarks by Noor come as a deadlock still persist between him and the government over the Balkh government leadership.

The Afghan government announced nearly three weeks ago that the resignation of Ata Mohammad Noor from the Balkh government has been approved by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

Noor admitted that he submitted his resignation but he had several demands before stepping down and none of them has been met by the government while his resignation has been approved.
