The Cambridge Community Theatre is set to perform Thornton Wilder's play "Our Town" on Jan. 24. The play is directed by Mrs. John T. Dunlavy, and will also feature the first Presbyterian Church Choir.

JAN. 12, 1968

Men attending Cambridge High School were given an ultimatum: Cut their long locks or face detention. The school board decided that hair needs to be out of the eyes, off the ears and not over the collar.

JAN. 12, 1978

Wuences Geovani Vasques Munos, a 14-year-old from Guatemala, hitch-hiked his way from Arizona to Cambridge before he was caught by authorities. Munos was on his way to visit his aunt in New York after he had an argument with his mother, but was picked up by sheriff's deputies at the Shenandoah Inn. Munos' only possessions were a Spanish Bible and a box of cough drops.

City firefighters suspect arson in three fires that occurred within 24 hours in Cambridge's West Side. Three cars and a mattress were set on fire in three separate locations in the city, and authorities are investigating the incidents.

DEXTER CITY-- One of the largest antique auctions ever seen in Noble County, the estate of Dr. Henry Schwartz, is taking place on this day. Schwartz traveled the world for the federal government, and collected antiques during his travels. After he passed away at the age of 80, his collections are drawing attention from collectors all over the country.
