The Railway hockey players exhibited impressive performances at the 76th All Indian Railway Hockey Men’s Championship 2017-18 League Stage. The championship is being organised at Sai Centre, Bhopal.
The championship is being organised by Railway Sports Promotion Board and West Central Railway Sports Association. On Thursday, the first match was played between North East Railway Gorakhpur and South East Central Railway Bilaspur.
The second match was played between South East Central Railway Secundarabad and East Coastal Railway Bhubaneshwar.
In the first match which was played between North East Railway Gorakhpur and South East Central Railway Bilaspur, in which North East Railway Gorakhpur won the match by 5-3 goals. The team maintained the position from the beginning. The team defeated South East Central Railway Bilaspur by 2-0 in first half. After the half time, both the teams gave a scintillating field performance and continuously worked to achieve a goal.
South East Central Railway Bilaspur tried hard and after half time scored one goal. But giving a tough competition to Bilaspur, North East Railway Gorakhpur scored goals one after the other and won by 5-3 goals.Next match was played between South East Central Railway Secundarabad and East Coastal Railway Bhubaneshwar in which South East Central Railway Secundarabad won the match by 1-0 golas. Before the last three minutes of the match there was no goal scored by any of the teams.
But, in those last three minutes South East Central Railway Secundarabad pulled up their socks and made a fantastic field goal ending up winning the match.Dheeraj Wagh, Gajendra Singh, Danny Canny, Thomas Chock, Mohammad Amin, Javed, Ritu Yadav and Kanchan Yadav were present at the match.
