The Cambridge Township trustees met Wednesday evening. Fiscal Officer Ed Wright presented to the trustees a wrap-up of the 2017 finances and some 2018 budget and appropriation estimates.
"The 2017 year-end balance was $483,728," Wright said. "Our 2018 budget total is $1,236,462 with $752,733 estimated revenue. The net assets increased by 32 percent, $78,000 of that generated from the new road improvement levy."
The trustees received packets of budget material and will be reviewing the information. Temporary appropriations were approved.
With the new year, brings a new trustee to the township. Tom Douglas was elected to serve as township trustee. Dannie Johnson returns as trustee, who was re-elected. The trustees elected officers for 2018. Hitzel will serve as president; Douglas, vice president; and Johnson, public relations. The trustees approved Peoples Bank and Star Ohio as the township depository. Johnson will serve as the representative to the CIC. Wright and Johnson will continue on the property consortium committee. They approved the personnel policy handbook and Glen Hutchison as the full-time employee and four part-time employees.
The trustees set meeting days and times as the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 a.m. Meetings will be at the township garage in the meeting room.
