Glencoe recorded a 64-20 defeat of Etowah County foe Gaston in girls high school basketball Thursday.
All 14 players who dressed out for the Yellow Jackets (13-5) scored in the game. Ashley Morgan led the way with 11 points. Lauren Cole and Aubrey Gray each contributed 10 points.
Glencoe returns to action Friday when it hosts another county team in Class 4A, No. 6 Hokes Bluff.
BOWLING
Southside girls win tourney
The Southside girls won Vestavia Hills' Rebel Roll high school bowling tournament Wednesday.
The defending champion Panthers (18-2) qualified fifth, then beat Paul Bryant and Spain Park. In the semifinals, they beat top seed Thompson. Southside then beat county rival Etowah in the finals to win the event.
Panther freshman Jessica Clontz made the all-tournament team.
The Southside boys (14-8) qualified sixth and opened with a win over McAdory before falling in the final frame to two-time defending state champion Spain Park.
The Panther girls and boys both will compete in the AHSAA playoffs that begin Jan. 18 in Tuscaloosa.
Gadsden City tops Hokes Bluff
Gadsden City recorded a 1,345-895 win over Hokes Bluff in boys high school bowling Wednesday.
In the victory, the Titans were led by Tommy Butler, who finished with the top individual score on the day with a total of 240.

AYBA to hold meeting, board elections
The Attalla Youth Baseball Association will hold its annual meeting and board elections Monday at the old gym at Etowah Middle School.
Nominations for board positions will be taken followed by elections and board member seating. Parents of children who played last year are encouraged to attend and participate in the voting process.
