ROCKFORD — A Rockford man remained jailed Thursday after he was arrested Tuesday for allegedly selling cocaine in Rockford, according to police.
The Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit has been investigating allegations of drug deals in the area of 11th Street during the past several months, according to a news release.
After identifying a suspect, officers performed a traffic stop Tuesday at Samuelson Road and 11th Street and arrested Francisco Cardona Jr., 29. Police said they found an undisclosed amount of cocaine and cash in the vehicle.
Cardona was charged with four counts of delivering between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine and one count of possession with the intent to deliver between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine, according to Winnebago County court records.
He must pay $17,500 to bail out of the Winnebago County Jail. He is due back in court on Jan. 19.
