MSME to work towards reviving sick units

The Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will form a policy package and make concessions and financial assistance facility to revive small-level sick industrial units of the state. Minister of State (Independent Charge) Sanjay-Satyendra Pathak gave this information while discussing the provision made in the MSME Development Policy -2017.

MoS Pathak told that the amount of ongoing liabilities of Energy Department or any other government dues of sick industrial units can now be deferred for a period of 5 years. MSME Department will make 5 per cent interest grant maximum Rs 25 lakh available on the loan given by the bank for revival up to 5/7 years.

Concession on CPF quality and patent will be expanded up to practical sick units. Pathak told that an integrated revival package will be prepared after coordination with banks along with identification of small-level sick units.

An empowered committee chaired by the Industries Commissioner MSME Department will be constituted to provide facilities to the small sick units and keep vigilance on the loan flow. Senior nominated officer of the concerned department the liabilities of which have to be deferred and regional manager of the concerned bank branch will be members of the empowered committee while Joint/ Deputy Director of MSME Department will be Member Secretary.
