He was addressing party workers while starting the Janadhikar Yatra here on Thursday.
Punia along with Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition T.S. Singdeo, Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Charandas Mahant, MP Tamradhwaj Sahu, CGPCC Working Presidents, Ramdayal Uikey and Shiv Kumar Daharia began the Yatra from Mahamaya Temple in Ambikapur and took a resolution to topple the government and form Congress government in the coming Assembly polls in the State.
Speaking to party workers, Punia recalled that it was the same place from where the Parivartan Yatra was started before the assembly elections of 2013 in the state.
He also recalled that the entire generation of the Congress leaders including the then CGPCC Chief Nandkumar Patel and senior Congress leader Vidyacharan Shukla were killed in the Jheeram incident.
Baghel, speaking on this occasion said Surguja is a strong fort of the Congress party in the state and the lead from there would be instrumental in forming the next Government in the State, he said.
