Chief Minister Raman Singh on Thursday approved proposed construction of a housing colony for surrendered Maoists comprising 100 houses in extreme insurgency infested Sukma district of Bastar, officials informed.
The funds for the project will be sourced from the corpus of Bastar and Southern Region Tribal Development Authority and District Minerals’ Fund (DMF).
The Chief Minister also approved Rs Four crore for the expansion of a bus stand at Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) Sukma district headquarters in Bastar.
Singh also approved an Inter-State bus stand at tehsil headquarter Bhopalpatnam in Bijapur district.
He was participating in an ‘e-Jandarshan’ programme at his official residence here.
The programme was attended by people’s representatives and citizens of four developmental blocks of Bastar Division-Sukma, Bhopalpatnam, Bijapur and Kuhakonda in Dantewada district.
Singh started the ‘e-Jandarshan’ programme with Sukma district.
Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Laxmi Bai said that Rs Four crore was needed for the development of bus stand at nagar panchayat.
The Chief Minister directed the District Collector to send the master plan to the Urban Administration Department at Mantralaya today itself.
Singh assured distribution of 668 land pattas to the beneficiaries of Prime Minister Housing Project within a month.
He ordered the Collector to take immediate steps on the issue.
Sukma Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Aradhana Markam requested the Chief Minister to allocate a sports ground at gram panchayat Ramaram and solar energy-based ‘Nal-Jal yojana’ at village Kudkel.
Sukma zilla panchayat member Dhaniram Baarse complained regarding the delay in payments of Rs One crore under the MNREGA developmental works in Sukma district.
Singh said that the State Government had received Central funds yesterday only.
Baarse also requested the Chief Minister for sanctioning a boys-girls’ Adivasi hostel at village Jhaapra on the banks of river Shabri in the district.
A member of zilla panchayat Bijapur Bhopalpatnam development block Vasant Laati expressed his gratitude to Singh over the laying of high-quality roads in the region.
Notably, Bhopalpatnam is on the edge of two states-Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. There is a need for constructing Inter-State bus stand there.
Singh immediately sanctioned the bus stand project.
He said that Bhopalpatnam will become a Commercial Centre of Bijapur district in the near future.
The Chief Minister assured that the problem of electricity shortage will be addressed in the next five months.
He added that a Power Sub -station is being built at Bijapur. Four more electric sub-stations have been sanctioned for the district.
Singh also revealed that 20,000 houses will be electrified under the Prime Minister ‘Sowbhagya’ project during the next six months.
He said that a road linking Bhopalpatnam-Tarlaguda is being laid at a rapid pace. Bridges are being constructed on this road.
