Yonkers ranked 16 on moving company U-Haul's 2017 list of the top 25 growth cities.
U-Haul locations in Yonkers saw 53.1 percent of one-way truck rental customers coming into the city as opposed to leaving, the company announced in a statement Tuesday.
Yonkers had a 12 percent increase in one-way truck arrivals year-over-year, while its departures rose 4 percent over the same span.
The company's top growth city was Tempe, Arizona.
Growth cities are calculated by the net gain of one-way U-Haul truck rentals entering a city versus leaving a city during a calendar year.
Migration trends data is compiled from more than 1.7 million one-way U-Haul truck rental transactions that occur annually.
While migration trends do not correlate directly to population or economic growth, U-Haul growth data is an effective gauge of how well cities and states are attracting and maintaining residents, according to the company.
