ALWAR: On the last day of filing nominations for Alwar parliamentary bypoll on Wednesday, nine new candidates joined the fray taking the total number of candidates to 15 for the January 29 elections.
BJP nominee Dr Jaswant Yadav and kisan leader and former BJP leader Ramlal Jat also filed his nomination making the contest more interesting.

Thursday is the day for scrutiny of nominations and January 15 is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.

BJP state president Ashok Parnami, several ministers and all nine MLAs from the constituency were present during the filing of nominations. They also held a public meeting at Company Bagh and took out a rally to the collectorate to file the nomination.

Parnami alleged that Congress is seeking vote on the basis of caste while BJP is asking votes for development. He said the party's poll plank is work done in the past four years.

BJP was able to provide a corruption-free government both at the Centre and state, he claimed. Lauding Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme, he said now even poor people get free treatment at private hospitals for serious ailments under the scheme.
