Wimal Weerawansa indicted

The Leader of National Freedom Front, MP, Wimal Weerawansa has been served an indictment by the Colombo High Court today (Jan. 11) for allegedly amassing wealth amounting to approximately 75 million rupees,

Having indicted the MP, High Court Judge Vikum Kaluaarachchi ordered to release the MP for two surety bails of 500,000 rupees.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has filed this case against MP Weerawansa for amassing nearly 75 million rupees in wealth which would be impossible to earn through the salary he had earned as a Minister.

Wimal Weerawansa was also ordered to re-appear in courts on 19th of next month.
