Over the course of 2017, India’s appetite for Porn grew. A lot. According to Pornhub’s 2017 Year in Review, India a not-too flattering pride of place in the world of porn. India ranked at No 3 in 2017 behind the US and UK, among 20 countries that ranked in the most traffic website. According to the site, Indians spend an average of 8 minutes and 20 seconds per visit to the site.

It also reveals that, former porn star Sunny Leone is the most searched pornstar in the country. Sunny remained in the list for the third time in a row. But the surprise entry in the list is Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif. Katrina is at No 3. Second on the list and also worldwide is Mia Khalifa, while Kim Kardashian is fourth on the worldwide list and Dani Daniels trail Kaif at No 4 and No 5, respectively.

In terms of most popular searches, ‘Arab’ ranked the highest in India – it was viewed 165% more times compared to 2016, and ‘hd Hindi’ and ‘indian hd’ sex touching a 1822% and 1273% spike respectively. The worldwide numbers are even more staggering. The site hosted 28.5 billion visitors in 2017, an unthinkable average of 81 million people daily. Their users and content partners uploaded more than 4 million videos last year, out of which 8,10,000 were amateur videos- adding up to a total of 5,95,482 hours of video. In other words, “68 years of porn if seen at one go”.

Notable trending searches here include “cheerleader’, up 2513 per cent; ‘hd hindi’ video, up 1822 per cent; and ‘indian hd’ sex up 1273 per cent.
