The Alipiri footpath, leading to the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara, was abuzz with activity on Wednesday morning, as more than 3000 dasaparas commenced their trek to Tirumala, singing melodious bhajans of Kannada Haridasas.
Speaking at the start of ‘walkathon’, Dasa Sahitya Project Special Officer P.R. Anandateerthacharya remarked that many saints, seers, philosophers, emperors trekked this way to attain salvation and in order to continue their legacy.
