NJ Transit service in and out of Penn Station was suspended Thursday because of an impassable drawbridge.

The Portal Bridge in Secaucus was stuck in the open position starting at 11 a.m., creating delays up to 20 minutes, according to NJ Transit alerts.

With the bridge not budging, NJ Transit had to reroute its Midtown direct trains to Hoboken Terminal.

Service to and from Penn Station was running on schedule or close to it shortly before 3:30 p.m., the rail agency said.

Amtrak train stuck in tunnel triggers delays at Penn Station

The Thursday morning commute on NJ Transit was already problematic.

There were 20-minute delays coming in and out of Penn Station around 6 a.m., authorities said.

That was blamed on Amtrak overhead wire that lost power at Penn Station.
