That’s the verdict of Sports Illustrated journalist Grant Wahl, who recently predicted that the Borussia Dortmund winger will head to England this year.

Pulisic is the USA’s brightest footballing prospect in a generation but plies his trade in the Bundesliga having moved to Germany in 2015.

His performances at Signal Iduna Park have caught the eye of a host of top managers, with his old Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp interested in taking him to Liverpool.

The Independent claimed today though that United would be ready to match any Reds bid for Pulisic as they attempt to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad.

And Wahl used their story to explain why he believes Pulisic’s price tag might be massive.

"Klopp seems a better fit for Pulisic than Mourinho," he wrote on Twitter. 

"A Premier League bidding war and Pulisic’s marketing potential in USA could drive Pulisic’s price into the stratosphere."

Wahl’s comments come after he predicted Pulisic will swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League in 2018.

"Don’t look for it to happen in the January transfer window, but rather in the summer," he said last month.

"As you could tell by reading Pulisic’s heartfelt piece in The Players Tribune, the 19-year-old US men’s player of the year wants desperately to win.

"That hasn’t been happening nearly as much this season at Borussia Dortmund, even as Pulisic has become one of the club’s most important players.

"Everyone knows that Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp covets Pulisic, which would make LFC his most likely Premier League destination, but Pulisic wouldn’t be out of place either at Arsenal, Manchester United or Manchester City.

"What’s more, while the main reason for a move would be Pulisic’s fit on the field, no club that’s interested in becoming bigger in the United States can ignore that signing the best US men’s prospect of all time could help on the business side."
