Deutsche Telekom has set up a new edge computing business and appointed former Ericsson cloud technology executive Jason Hoffmann as its CEO, according to Light Reading. The business is called MobiledgeX and is intended "to further explore the opportunities of edge computing", Telekom told Light Reading.

Telekom declined to release any additional details on the new company’s staffing, funding or strategy, said Light Reading.
