Brockton man sentenced to 12-16 years for rape

The man was convicted of raping a female juvenile once in 2015 and another time in 2016.

BROCKTON – A 26-year-old city man was sentenced to more than a decade in prison after being convicted of two rape charges Wednesday.

A jury deliberated for an hour and found Cameron Hill guilty of two counts of aggravated rape following the day-long trial in Brockton Superior Court.

Judge Richard Chin sentenced Hill to serve 12-16 years, to run concurrent, on each charge.

The charges were brought against Hill after a female juvenile disclosed in April 2016 that she had been sexually assaulted by Hill.

The Plymouth County district attorney’s office said in a written statement that the victim told police she was raped by Hill, her stepfather, once in 2015 and another time in 2016.

Hill was arrested on May 27, 2016, by Brockton police, who investigated the incidents along with District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s Family Protection Unit.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Beth Kusmin.
