DRILLS: The massive drills are another sign Russia is gearing up for World War 3

The WW3 preparation has been taking place in the military’s Khmelyovka training ground and involved engineer and sapper units of Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet.

Photos show soldiers in all kinds of war scenarios, including carrying out detonations on the battlefield.

The drills are the latest sign Vladimir Putin is gearing up for an all-out conflict.

The strongman president has been accused of preparing to launch an attack Europe.

“That looks to me like a rehearsal of an attack”

General Curtis Scaparrotti

Just days ago, Riho Terras, the commander of the Estonian Defence Forces, said Putin’s forces “simulated a large-scale military attack” against NATO last September.

He claimed the war games were so the superpower could prepare to move a large number of troops at extremely short notice if it were to go to war with the US-led organisation.

Mr Terras was talking about massive drills held across Belarus, the Baltic Sea and Russia for six days last year.

Other leading figures have voiced similar concerns.

General Curtis Scaparrotti, Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, said at the time: “It's following in line with what we've seen with these annual exercises in the past.

“They're usually very large. They're usually initially defensive in nature but also have an offensive portion thereafter that looks to me like a rehearsal of an attack.

“That's worrisome if you're a NATO country on the border.”
