Thanks I like that.
Any recommendations for something similar minus the MC?
I fail to see the point unless you’re in a club throwing shapes: just some generic backing with some random talking over the top.
Move along, now, nothing to see here.
It’s been post here before, but bears posted by again
Most of the music on the Hospital Records label is pretty mellow https://youtu.be/vEpaA-Qj3Ok

I find Ledge Sounds channel on YouTube has good stuff. Also Liquicity.

Liquid Drum n Bass will continue to get much bigger in 2018.
Not in this house..
Ah this brings back memories of Sun and Bass 2004
See also Calibre. Essential mix from this (almost last) year

Move along, now, nothing to see here.
Cos you don't get it nobody should. Duh.
Thanks for the links chaps
The old Calibre Breezeblock mix with DRS is good too.
Drum and Bass for old People
Bungalist Massive?
Nah, not feeling that one at all OP.
If it's mellow you want then it has to be LTJ Bukem.
1. Airtight remix - Funky Technicians
2. New element - Form Form
3. Drum in a grip - De Wolf & Wax Doctor
4. Solution - Ils & Solo
5. In too deep - JMJ & Flytronix
6. So long - Seba & Lo-tec
7. Pharaoh - Photek
8. After Hours - DJ Trace
9. Groove Therapy - Universal
10. Mind Games - DJ Crystal
And this This Dj Philton mix is spot on.
https://soundcloud.com/djphilton/deep-atmospheric-drum-n-bass-mix
This mix contains early to mid 1990s deep drum n bass, including some of my random favourites by the legends of the genre. Mostly UK material.
TRACKLISTING:
01. Motive One - Technical Wizardry
02. Code Of Practice - Infiltrate
03. Oblivion - Lush
04. B.C. & Neil Trix - Sixth Sense
05. Midi Magic - Calm Before The Storm
06. Goldie - Sensual
07. Shamen - Transamazonia (LTJ Bukem Remix)
08. Artemis - Elysian Fields
09. St Germain - Alabama Blues (Wax Doctor Remix)
10. Seba & Lotek - So Long
11. Sentinel - Toulepleu
dumbbot. That is a classic. The mix that really launched my drum and bass love affair. So Long by Seba and Lo-tek really got me listening to Seba.
Went off Bukem a bit as a lot of GLR releases had many of the same tracks just packaged differently.

This is a great mid 90's liquidy jungle tune.
More liquid DnB:

which I made into a Spotify playlist, although not all are on there )-:

There's some fantastic drum and bass out there at the moment but I'm bored of MCs. In a club they work but listening at your desk is a different experience completely. I don't mind DRS but even he can grate. dBridge and Kid Drama together as Heart Drive are well worth checking out. I must have listened to Calibre's Essential Mix at least 15 times. Seba and Ulrich Schnauss's new EP is also right up my musical street.

That calibre essential mix is absolutely superb
Have a look on YouTube for Hospital Records' Fast Soul tracks. There are some fabulous liquid tunes in that series, perfect for a chilled New Years' Day, like this.
Drum and bass for old people? In our house it’s known as family friendly dnb, which is a gateway drug to ed rush... hospital records gets a lot of love here, my seven year old daughter thinks high contrast rocks
Not liquid but I photographed Ray Keith, Remarc, Commix and Chopstick Dubplate last night in Leeds. Ray Keith is officially the coolest old bearded dude ever.
Loving the mix in the OP thanks for the link
Ray Keith is still rolling? Excellent.
That Calibre vid ^^ isn't his best IMO, have a look on Soundcloud for him because theres plenty of his greatest tunes on there..
Bloody hell I forgot about starting this thread to many beers and a bottle of whiskey
Cheers for the links.
It wasn't D&B but we spent New Year's Eve at the Sativa 25th Birthday Bash, wee Red Bar, Edinburgh.
Still feeling a bit woolly today. Was great to bump into peeps I haven't seen for quite some time.
Marcus Intalex - FabricLive 35 has always been my favourite. Immense mix of a brilliantly picked selection of outstanding tracks, largely all suitable for old people
I was sad to hear he passed away last year.
Definitely second that isto.
Runner up being FabricLive 68 Calibre, in a similar vein. Both recommended on here previously, so thanks to whoever that was (-:
On the FabricLive front, #44 Commix one is excellent.
As I get older I'm very much being drawn towards Calibre, Commix and Klute. Seem to get bored with most Hospital type liquid these days and so many like Noisia have gone dead cheesy.
Enough of all your namby-pambyness..... Drum & Bass will never get any better than this:
Shy FX & T-Power's Diary of a Digital Soundboy, a few years old now but very accessible

Spy

Static's Something About Nothing Album is good
And as other have said, Hospital Records
Lenzman has a soulful DnB playlist on Spotify that is worth checking out

If you're gonna make that claim, at least pick something good
