Arctic Monkeys will go on tour this year, reports suggest

The now iconic band have been revealed as part of the line-up for the Firefly Festival, where they join Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and The Killers at the very top of the bill.

The Woodlands of Delaware play host to the extravaganza, which is slated for between June 14 and 17.

The group were also thought to have teased further shows on Instagram - but now it seems that it may have been fake,

Still, NME claims that more 2018 dates will follow “in the coming weeks”.

The group have been quiet for a few years now

Arctic Monkeys’ upcoming album plans were revealed on motorcycle website For The Ride, in which bassist Nick O’Malley gave away that work was being done on their sixth record.

Each and every one of their first five LPs hit the summit; starting with Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not back in 2006.

Their most recent record was 2013’s AM, which hit the summit in Britain and Australia and also became their second Top 10 success in the US.

Photos emerged on social media in the spring of last year showing them working in Los Angeles, presumably on the new material.

During their long hiatus, Alex Turner worked more with his other band, the Last Shadow Puppets, while drummer Matt Helders contributed to Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression.

Presale for the Firefly Festival begins tomorrow at 10am, Eastern time (6pm in the UK).
