Flight of the Conchords is returning -- very briefly.
HBO confirmed Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are reuniting to give Conchord fans a one-hour special set to air this spring. An official air date is yet to come. The special will be a taped performance of one of the duo's "Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour" United Kingdom dates. The performance will feature some of the band's classic hits as well as new original songs.
Flight of the Conchords began as a sketch in the HBO comedy series "One-Night Stand" in 2005 before becoming a cult classic and critically acclaimed series when it debuted on HBO in 2007. The show racked up 10 Emmy nominations over the course of its two seasons. McKenzie and Clement took home the Grammy for their album "The Distant Future" in 2008.
