Men's basketball

Assumption 84, NYIT 75: Bryan Boehlert scored 18 points in 17 minutes off the bench while boosting the Greyhounds past the Bears at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Boehlert was 5 of 7 from the field and 7 of 7 from the line.

Branislav Vujadinovic netted 16 points, Matthew Kelly 13 and Joe Sullivan 13 for Assumption, which improved to 4-10. New York Institute of Technology is 3-12.

This is the second time NYIT has played a home game at the home of the Brooklyn Nets. The Bears faced St. Thomas Aquinas there two years ago. NYIT is located in Old Westbury, a village on Long Island.

WPI 74, Wheaton 64: Chris Rodgers finished with 19 points, hit 10 of 12 from the line, and added seven rebounds and four assists as the Engineers (7-7, 1-2 NEWMAC) topped the Lyons (9-4, 1-2) in Norton.

Jake Wisniewski and Reid Walker each added 11 points and six rebounds for WPI, and Aaron Todd chipped in 10 points.

Springfield 101, Clark 63: Luca McCormick scored 10 points for the Cougars (3-11, 0-3 NEWMAC) in a matinee loss to the host Pride (8-6, 2-1).

Seven of Springfield's nine players scored in double figures, led by Trey Witte's 19 points off the bench.

Salem State 80, Fitchburg State 63: Tyrell St. John netted 12 points for the visiting Falcons (5-9, 1-1 MASCAC) in a loss to the Vikings (11-3, 2-0). Fitchburg State shot only 33.8 percent from the field — 22 of 65.

Former Worcester Academy star Tyreik McCauley scored 10 points for Salem State.

Framingham State 69, Worcester State 61: Shaun McCarthy had 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Cal Howes added 19 points and seven boards for the visiting Lancers (1-14, 0-2 MASCAC), who couldn't come back from a 19-point halftime deficit.

Women's basketball

Assumption 72, St. Thomas Aquinas 60: Morgan O'Brien netted 15 points, and Morgan O'Donnell and Teneya McLaughlin each added 13 while boosting the host Greyhounds (4-9) over the Spartans (13-1), who were ranked 23rd in Division 2.

Aquinas scored the first 10 points, and Assumption trailed by as many as 14 in the first quarter, but the Hounds drew to within 28-27 at halftime and outscored the Spartans, 26-16, in the third quarter.

Framingham State 65, Worcester State 63: Abbey Battaini's 3-pointer off a pass from Raegan Mulherin with 1:54 left completed the game's scoring for the Rams (8-6, 2-0 MASCAC) in Framingham.

Former Tahanto Regional standout Mary Kate O'Day poured in 25 points, fueled by four 3-pointers, to lead Framingham State, and Mulherin, who starred at Narragansett Regional, added 18 points and five steals.

Kaitlyn Berkel led the Lancers (6-8, 0-2) with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Britt Herring had 13 points and six boards, and Catherine Sweeney collected 10 rebounds to go with her five points.
