Shooting was the difference as Perham took control in the second half in a 64-24 Section 8AA win over the Park Rapids boys basketball team Tuesday night at Perham.
Josh Jeziorski's 12 points and 10 rebounds, Carter Cresap's 12 points and Jenson Beachy's 11 points led Perham, which made 24 of 44 field goals (including 10 of 23 3-pointers). The Yellowjackets led 24-14 at the half before outscoring Park Rapids 40-10 in the second half.
Jason Haas (9), Jake Reish (8) and Tristin Persons (7) provided the scoring for the Panthers, who made only 9 of 42 field goals (including 2 of 13 3-pointers). Haas led the way with three steals and joined Jeff Haas with five rebounds as the Panthers fell to 4-2 against section teams and 8-5 overall.
Perham, which is rated No. 7 in this week's state Class AA poll, improved to 6-0 in section play and 12-0 overall.
