Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Wednesday said that the State Government has urged the Central Government for setting of Skill Development Centres in the state to train the people intended to work in foreign countries as per the demand.
Manohar Lal was interacting with the mediapersons after a meeting held under the chairmanship of External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj regarding Non Resident Indians (NRIs) in New Delhi.
He said that the setting up of Skill Development Centres in Haryana would give further impetus to the process of sending the people abroad for employment.
Khattar said that 136 different cases have been registered against the NRIs in the state last year.
In reply to a question regarding complaints made by women and girls against the NRI grooms, the Chief Minister said that though the NRI cell of the State take action on such complaints as per the rules, a NRI policy would also be prepared by the State Government to further accelerate the process to resolve the complaints.
Khattar, while giving reply to another question, said that various issues concerning the NRIs were discussed in the meeting. Apart from this, detailed discussion was also held regarding the steps to be taken by the State Governments to redress their complaints.
