Italian press deliver bombshell news that Max Allegri has agreed deal to manage Chelsea

CHELSEA have been rocked by reports claiming Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri has agreed to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season.

Conte’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain despite the Italian managing to steer the Blues’ season back on track.

However, with the 48-year-old still seething at club owner Roman Abramovich’s reluctance to back him in the transfer market, a parting of the ways could be in the offing.

Chelsea have made a habit of sacking managers despite their achievements, meaning last year’s Premier League title triumph may not be enough to keep Conte at Stamford Bridge.

And Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport say that Allegri, who succeeded Conte at Juventus, has agreed to do the same at Chelsea.

The 50-year-old may leave at the end of the season.

He has taken Juventus on considerably during his time at the club but, with the Champions League continuing to evade them, he may take up the reins somewhere else.

Juventus are also behind Napoli in the race for the Scudetto and, should their dominance of Serie A end, Allegri may deem it the perfect time to walk away.

And Corriere dello Sport say he has already verbally agreed to take the reins at Chelsea.

However, Juventus may need persuading to let their manager go.

It is said they want to keep him until the end of his contract, which expires in 2020.

Chelsea news: Italian reports say Antonio Conte could leave

In October, Conte slammed reports saying he could leave Chelsea as ‘bull****’.

“I think around us there is a lot of bulls**t. If I see the past it happened the same with a lot of managers. A lot of bulls**t,” he said.

“They try to create problems between me, the club and the players. If someone is happy to continue to write this I think I answered very well in the past. I am answering very well about these different issues.

“I think this is a lack of respect. I can accept [if you] write that the club is ready to sack me, the story with the players [being unhappy].

“I don't care what the newspaper write about my future or the other person because this is our job.”
