HAMPTON FALLS — Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., will hold its annual fundraiser at The Poker Room at One Lafayette Road in Hampton Falls from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.

The proceeds from this event will be used for rewards, scholarships, community safety and crime prevention forums and events, and donations that help local police carry out their duties.

“This fundraiser is great for people to come out for a few hours, have some fun and help raise money for a good cause that benefits everyone who lives in our area,” said John Mounsey of Crimeline’s board of directors. “The money we raise goes a long way in helping our community and our police departments.”

Crimeline provides reward money to people that come forward with information that helps police. The group awards annual scholarships to local students that pursue careers in criminal justice or law enforcement, and to children of police officers.

Throughout the year, Crimeline holds public forums in addition to an annual free shredding event to raise awareness about identity theft that is held on the Saturday after Tax Day. This year, the shredding event will be held the morning of Saturday, April 21, in the parking lot next to the Hampton Police Department.

“Our board aims to support our local police departments and we always look for ways to help our community, too,” said attorney Mary Ganz, chair of Crimeline’s board of directors.

Crimeline’s board of directors meets several times each year and includes liaisons from the police departments in Hampton, North Hampton, Hampton Falls, and Seabrook. “We also work with our police departments to find items they need that we can help provide,” Ganz added.
