Madera golf course re-opening after nearly shutting its doors for good

You may know it as Riverpark Golf Center but in October owners sold the property to Valley Children's Hospital. They planned on using the 59-acre property for a possible expansion of the Madera County campus.

After proposing the idea to the hospital board LPGA teaching professional Cindy Vining will operate Valley Golf Center.

Starting Friday you can tee up. You will notice some changes to the nine-hole course and added targets for the 60 station driving range.

Twenty-nine School teams in the Fresno-Madera area, including Fresno State, use the greens for practice-- as well as the non-profit First Tee. First Tee offers youth development programs that use golf to help children learn the importance of sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity.
