"The headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area is planning to organise a weapon and equipment display & band concert as part of Army Day celebrations 2018 at Express Avenue Mall, Royapettah," said a release here from the PIB's defence wing.
The 'Know Your Army' campaign is aimed at providing people of the city a glimpse of weapons being used by the forces and to make them familiar with the Indian Army.
On Wednesday, Indian army's headquarters, Dakshin Bharat Area, Chennai conducted the event at Stella Maris College here. More than 1000 students and NCC cadets of Stella Maris College visited the weapon and equipment display exhibition and the band concert.
Army officials, who were present at the expo, explained to students about the weapons and cleared their doubts. Also, the army's band presented a musical performance which thrilled the youngsters there.
