Google acquires UK technology start-up Redux

Google has acquired UK technology start-up Redux, which specialises in turning surfaces such as phone displays into speakers, Bloomberg reports. According to regulatory filings, the transfer of shares was confirmed in December. 

Redux's technology eliminates the need for small speakers in mobile handsets, making more space available for other components. Google declined to comment on the price and details of the deal.
