Mauricio Pochettino on Real Madrid radar as talks begin with Zinedine Zidane replacements

REAL MADRID will replace Zinedine Zidane before next season and have two men lined up to take over.

Zinedine Zidane is under pressure at Real Madrid

The Spanish giants want to bring Joachim Low to Madrid but face a battle to get him before the World Cup.

But Sport claims talks are underway and going well but Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is the back up option.

Pochettino has impressed in England with both Southampton and now Tottenham.

And he is being talked about as one of the next managers to make the jump to a super club.

He was pictured having lunch with Sir Alex Ferguson, leading to talk of a move to Manchester United.

And having played in Spain he has been mentioned in regards to the Barcelona and Real Madrid jobs.

Pochettino captained PSG in his playing days and has previously admitted to have feelings for the club still.

But he is expected to remain at Tottenham in the short term at least as they head for their new stadium next season.

Zidane’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain after falling 16 points behind league leaders Barcelona and drawing in the Copa Del Rey with Numancia last night.

Zidane himself has revealed his future is unsure, despite winning back to back Champions League titles.

"I just go game to game, year to year," said Zidane.

"I cannot think two or three years down the line, as I know how it is here, even having a contract, which means nothing.

"It is not easy for the players who play less. We played a good game. We maybe lacked a bit of gas at the end."

And earlier in the week he admitted he won’t be at Madrid in the long-term.

"Zinedine Zidane isn't a player at Real Madrid anymore. That Zidane no longer exists," he told France Football.

"Now it's down to Zinedine Zidane the coach to carve out a career. I'm not protected by what I've done as a player at this club.

"I know that one day it [the coach's job] will come to an end at Real Madrid, so I make the most of it and I do everything I can to be successful.

"I say to myself, 'if I've got 10 days left here, then I'm going to live those 10 days to the max; if it's six months, I'll live those six months to the max'. I don't think beyond that.

"I know I won't stay [in the job] for 10 years."
