Mumbai Kamala Mills Fire: 1Above co-owners Kripesh Sanghvi and Jigar Sanghvi arrested

Mumbai : Two of the three owners of 1Above, who are absconding since the fire in Kamala Mills compound, have been arrested from Bandra in a late night swoop. They were identified as Kripesh Sanghvi and Jigar Sanghvi. The third accused, Abhijit Mankar, is still untraceable.
The breakthrough became possible after hotelier Vishal Kariya, who had harboured them at his Juhu residence, was arrested. The incriminating evidence came up when the CCTV footage of the building, where Karia stays, was examined: it revealed that the two owners had stayed in the building for two days after the fire. They had even left their car in the possession of Karia.
According to Ahmad Pathan, Senior Police Inspector, NM Joshi Marg police, station, “The three main accused — Kripesh Sanghvi, Jigar Sanghvi and Abhijit Mankar — had taken shelter in Vishal Karia’s residence after the fire. During investigation, Kariya revealed that when Sanghvis and Mankar saw the news flashing on TV channels that an FIR had been registered against them, they decided to flee.
Once it was established that Kariya was in touch with the owners of 1Above, the police started grilling him about the whereabouts of the accused, said Virendra Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3).
