

Nifty Scales Fresh Record Closing High Ahead of Q3 Numbers
The NSE Nifty opened higher at 10,637.05 and moved in a range of 10,664.60 a fresh record high and 10,612.35 before ending at 10,651.20, its record closing high, up 19.00 points, or 0.18 per cent from its last close.

Mumbai: NSE benchmark Nifty scaled a fresh record closing peak, up 19 points to close at 10,651.20 ahead of key corporate earnings to be announced later in the day.
Buying was led by realty, media, IT and FMCG sectors, while energy and metal stocks ended with losses. Overseas, European stocks edged slightly higher as investors awaited the release of corporate earnings and economic data.
Asian stocks edged lower after Wall Street slipped overnight on China bond report.
The NSE Nifty opened higher at 10,637.05 and moved in a range of 10,664.60 a fresh record high and 10,612.35 before ending at 10,651.20, its record closing high, up 19.00 points, or 0.18 per cent from its last close.
It saw an intra-day movement of about 52.25 points. On the sectoral front, realty rose 2 per cent, media 0.47 per cent, IT 0.40 per cent, FMCG 0.36 per cent, PSU bank 0.35 per cent, pharma 0.25 per cent, finance service 0.21 per cent and bank 0.17 per cent.
While, energy and metal fell by 0.38 per cent and 0.14 per cent, respectively. Major index gainers were: Infosys, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel and Kotak Bank. Losers included IndusInd Bank, Wipro, Ambuja Cement, Bajaj Finance and Cipla.
The market breadth, indicating its overall health, was in favour of gainers. On the NSE, 976 stocks advanced, 813 declined while 58 remained unchanged.
Total securities that hit their price bands were 241. Turnover in the cash segment fell to Rs 35,305.76 crore from Rs 36,413.60 crore as on Wednesday.
A total of 20,221.49 lakh shares changed hands in 12,354,766 trades. The market capitalisation of listed firms on the NSE stood at Rs 1,53,08,574.46 crore.
